How long does it take to register a business in Singapore?

The time it takes to register a business in Singapore is within a day. However it may take 14 days to 2 months if application needs to be referred to another government agency for approval as per List of Referral Authorities.

However, the Registrar may refuse to register a proposed business filed by a person under the Business Registration Act where the proposed business is likely to be:

  1. used for unlawful purposes;
  2. prejudicial to public peace, welfare or good order in Singapore
  3. contrary to the national security or interest

Person may, within 30 days of the date of decision of the Registrar, appeal to the Minister whose decision is final.
