The time it takes to register a business in Singapore is within a day. However it may take 14 days to 2 months if application needs to be referred to another government agency for approval as per List of Referral Authorities.
However, the Registrar may refuse to register a proposed business filed by a person under the Business Registration Act where the proposed business is likely to be:
- used for unlawful purposes;
- prejudicial to public peace, welfare or good order in Singapore
- contrary to the national security or interest
Person may, within 30 days of the date of decision of the Registrar, appeal to the Minister whose decision is final.
